RaceIQ runner guide

Why I Built RaceIQ

RaceIQ came from a simple frustration: most running plans are written like life is quiet. Mine was not. Most runners' lives are not.

RaceIQ Coach Takeaway

RaceIQ was built to help runners adjust training around the life they actually have, not the life a static plan assumes.

This guide is general training education, not medical advice. If pain, illness, or a health concern is involved, talk with a qualified professional.

The plan on paper kept missing the point

A spreadsheet can tell you what Tuesday should look like. It cannot always tell you what to do when Monday ran late, you slept badly, your legs are heavy, and the long run still matters.

After starting at 210 lbs and learning to run while working full time, I knew the hard part was not just doing the work. It was knowing how to adjust when life changed the work.

RaceIQ Coach Takeaway

Do not judge today's run in isolation. Look at the last 48 hours, the next key session, and the stress already in your legs.

Rigid plans make normal runners feel like they failed

Miss a workout and the plan keeps moving. Ride Peloton instead and the training load disappears from the calendar. Move a long run and suddenly the whole week feels broken.

That is not coaching. Coaching should help you understand the tradeoff and keep building.

Training plan meet real life?

RaceIQ helps you decide whether to move, modify, or protect the next workout.

RaceIQ is the coach I wanted in the messy middle

RaceIQ exists for runners with full-time jobs, stress, bad sleep, heat, strength work, cycling, marathon goals, trail goals, and ultra dreams.

It is not about making training soft. It is about making training smarter, so the goal survives the actual week.

Why RaceIQ exists

These guides come from the same belief behind why RaceIQ was built: rigid plans do not work for runners with real lives.
